From Bleeding Tumours to the Biome - MARS CPD Night

The Canine Abdomen in Focus

The canine abdomen presents some of the most complex and clinically significant challenges in veterinary practice.

From acute abdominal presentations to chronic gastrointestinal disease, decision-making often requires a careful balance of diagnostics, experience and collaboration. This Continuing Education Night is designed to support veterinary professionals through focused learning and open discussion on canine abdominal disease.

What to Expect

This Free CPD evening brings together specialists and peers for a practical, discussion-led approach to complex abdominal cases.

The night will include:

  • Specialist lectures focused on abdominal disease in dogs
  • Case discussion spanning bleeding tumours, gastrointestinal disease and the microbiome
  • Open, collaborative conversation around diagnostics and clinical decision-making
  • Opportunities to connect with peers and referral-level specialists

The session is designed to encourage critical thinking, shared learning and practical takeaways that can be applied directly in clinical practice.

Specialist-Led Discussion

Hosted at a specialist animal hospital, this CPD night brings together veterinary internal medicine and veterinary oncology specialists for collaborative, case-based discussion.

The evening will be hosted by Dr Irina Gramer, Oncology Specialist, alongside Internal Medicine Specialists Dr Abigail Brough and Dr Kathryn Hogan.

Together, they will guide attendees through a wide spectrum of abdominal presentations — including splenic tumour in dogs, bleeding abdominal masses and chronic gastrointestinal disease — using real-world cases to explore diagnostic pathways, management options and clinical reasoning.

The session will be case-based and discussion-driven, encouraging open-minded conversation, shared clinical experience and practical decision-making insights.
